The Perfect Anxiety Prescription

The Perfect Anxiety Prescription

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. PHILIPPIANS 4:6 I type medical reports for a living, and I’m saddened by the number of reports I type daily in which the patient is struggling with severe anxiety. It has become an epidemic affecting people of all ages. I certainly understand feeling anxious. I would often find myself struggling with anxious thoughts and was called a “worry wart” by others. If there were nothing to worry about, I would find something to worry about! I used to even feel anxious every time I decided to eat healthily and lose weight. I would obsess about how long it would be before I fell off track again and went right back to my old habits. I worried about failing before I even got started. Yet, the more I studied the Bible,

The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger

I don’t remember what I did, but I do remember I bent down to lift something heavy. In my head, I heard a small voice, “More knees and less back. I should stop and ask my husband for help. Imagine the difference if I had stopped and asked him to help initially. On day

Are you struggling with this “social separation” thrust upon us by Covid-19? My friend, you are not alone. Since I work from home, my daily work schedule has not really been interrupted that much. But I have discovered some surprising things about myself. These discoveries have caused me to be a bit more cautious during this time and a bit more contemplative of the spiritual applications.  Discovery Number One: I am way more productive when I cannot leave and go wherever I want. Because of my Rheumatoid Arthritis, I am at the doctor every four to six weeks. And it takes up time. My appointments now have been virtual. Before, when I traveled to Charleston going to the doctor, I might as
