Make Every Day your Best Day

Make Every Day your Best Day

The last chapter in “Make Every Day your Best Day” is Giving Life Away.  We challenged our class to bring in hygiene products for the Mission Center to give away.  They were asked to donate an amount equivalent to their weight loss or the number of memory verses they recited. We collected over a hundred pounds of products! ~ Tuesday Noon Leaders at Houston’s First Baptist Church.

Praise God, I am a walking miracle

I know I am late to make this report, but I had a 3-way bi-pass surgery Nov. 21. Praise God, I am a walking miracle, and gaining more strength each and every day! Our small group of five (Raleigh St. James UMC FP4H Group) has made the most progress this past fall. We are proud to say with God’s help, we lost a total of 64.7 in the twelve weeks. We were unable to have a celebration gathering due to my surgery, and want to have one when we return for our first meeting in January, which will be 1-15-13!!! I wrote an article to give other church members hope and possibly more interest in joining us. Even our preacher gave us a congrats, and that’s saying something! I am so proud of our group, and hope our Raleigh Group and be a lighthouse to others and can keep up

My Lord

My Lord and I began our healthier lifestyle change 9-4-13. I have been committed for a year. writing down what I eat, studying God’s Word and exercising. I began at 171# and now at 144#. I am going to commit to do this the rest of my life.  I haven’t been involved in groups as there aren’t any in the area, but I just wanted to share, so thank you so much for the material access. I still have about ten more pounds to go, but to me it is more about the time I have spent learning and growing in Christ. Amazing! Jacqualene Nelson

Praises to God

Praises to God the Father through Jesus Christ for blessing us with the opportunity to offer a second class on a different night of the week. By doing this, we have stretched one of our original members to become a leader, who otherwise was going to have to drop out due to personal obligations with work. It has also added to our numbers an additional six members. Even though we lost one member during our last session, God has doubled our First Place 4 Health group at First Baptist Church in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Feel Stuck?

Feel Stuck?

I was interested in the Restore retreat but deterred by the price.  Two weeks before the event I felt the Lord wanted me to attend. The enemy knew he was about to lose ground and he used my fears, insecurities, lies, and excuses to try to stop me.   He tried to tell me: ·       I couldn’t afford it. ·       I’d be the only one like me there. ·       It wasn’t going to work. ·       You don’t know what will happen I pressed my way through my thoughts, reservations, and fears.  I was stuck and I wanted to be free. I did not know what was going to take place at this event but I knew God had freedom for me there. I was welcomed with a warm smile and prayer. As I met others, I realized I wasn’t the only one feeling awkward. The first night each speaker’s words touched on the broken areas of our

I just wanted to express my thanks to all of you for such a wonderful, heart changing program! I have lost nearly 50 pounds and am continuing to carry on towards the goal of permanent weight loss. I am doing this because I am “seeking first His kingdom and all things will be added unto you”! I am really excited each day to read and study this devotional. I will keep in touch as I move closer to the heart of God for my life! I sincerely thank you! Janet Anderson Catskill, New York ———————————————————————————————– Carole, I must tell you how much I am enjoying Today is the First Day. I am learning so much about myself. GOD and I are having the greatest conversations. We just don’t seem to have enough time. It’s like being out with a friend for your lunch hour and it is a sweet time

First Place 4 Health book–Giving Christ Control

I was a not a heavy person as a child or a teenager, but my perception of myself was very different. I really started to struggle with my weight after my first child was born. Of course I was in the belief that it was baby weight. I then found out it was because I found out I had a tyroid problem. That is why I kept gaining and could not get the weight off. I started going to a new church and to their bible study. It was in a study called Decerning the Voice of God that woke me up to what had to be done. I had tried every weight loss program and had little success. But in this Bible study I heard him. I always thought the voice of the Lord would be a burning bush, the heavens would open and angels would sing, I never

Nancy, I would like to share our recent First Place Celebration. We had a “Luau” theme and our group mascot is a FROG, because FROG is an acronym meaning, “Fully Rely on God.” We had a carved Watermelon with frogs, Hawaiian music, and Luau themed food. It was great fun. The picture of the lady and gentleman, Orth and Audrey Rader is the couple that brought the First Place program to the attention of our church and the rest is history. We celebrated our first anniversary on September 17. The group is larger in number than the little group we started with, but much smaller in body size! We have expanded to two classes this year. We will be offering the evening group and have added a daytime group. First Place is really catching on in our area.
