Helen Baratta

Helen Baratta is Director of Development for First Place For Health.

In 2006, obese and unable to walk without pain, she surrendered to the Lord and He transformed her life. Since then, she shed and now maintains a 116-pound weight loss. Click here to read her success story.

Helen is author of the book Restored! Embracing Weight Loss God’s Way, First Place for Health My Place for Leadership and contributing author to five books: Live Life Right Here Right Now!, Better Together, My First Place, A Joy-Full Season, and Inspire! Women’s Stories of Accomplishment, Encouragement and Influence.

At age 40, Helen came to faith through the prayers of a friend’s small group. Growing in her faith, she moved from Small Group Member to Leader, Coach, Network Leader, and Associate Campus Pastor. In 2011, Helen left a 30-year corporate career to join the staff of Crossroads Church (UMC) in Oakdale, PA as their first Small Group Director overseeing 70 groups at multiple campuses. In 2014 she joined the First Place for Health team as their Event Coordinator and was named Director of Development in 2015.

She is a speaker, coach, group leader, triathlete and certified fitness instructor. After raising two sons, Helen and her husband, Vince, are living the dream on the Big Island of Hawaii. When she isn’t hiking lava fields you can find her navigating the waves on her stand-up paddle board or biking up and over the next hill.
