The FP4H food plan is balanced, healthy, common sense, and do-able. You don’t have to buy special, expensive, prepackaged foods or nutrition supplements from a certain company. There are also no taboo foods (no food is inherently evil; it’s just food!), but there are definitely choices that are better for you than others, which you will see in the pages of this book. Your goal is to create and sustain a lifestyle of healthy food choices overall, saving room for occasional less healthy treats but not giving them a prominent place in your daily eating pattern. We also call it the “Live It” because God provides abundant life through Jesus, His Son. We can choose to honor God and even worship Him by making healthy food choices for our bodies, His temple:
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
