You will be hearing a lot about growing the First Place for Health Ministry, especially as we get closer to 2027. As a ministry, to continue to reach more people we each need to stretch ourselves. There are several roles of participation in FP4H. Maybe you are a group member, a co-leader, or a group leader. You participate in your role because you believe in the program, and it is comfortable. And feeling safe and comfortable is a wonderful place to be. But we are challenging you to be more.
Group Participants
You may have begun FP4H because you wanted to get healthier, to enhance your relationship with the Lord, for accountability on your wellness journey or be with like-minded people. You may be wondering in what ways can I help grow the ministry?
We have some easy suggestions for you that you may already be doing!
Talk the FP4H talk every chance you get. Tell others what you have learned, what you have lost, what you have gained, how God has changed you. Encourage them to join a class.
Present the FP4H program to your church. One way to begin that process is through your small group ministry or womenās ministry program if your church has them. Talk to your pastor, show the success stories on our website to your church decision makers. We will give you what you need to share FP4H information. Are you feeling the nudge to share the FP4H experience with others? We will help you!
You could ask us for some brochures that you could pass out to your local churches.
Co-Leaders
You are an invaluable piece to the group you are in. Every leader out there needs the benefit of a co-leader. We have lost great leaders because they did not have a āyouā in their group, so THANK YOU!
How can you as a Co-Leader help us grow the ministry?
You see the group participants and the gifts that they have, encourage them to use those gifts and stretch themselves to take their FP4H journey to the next level. You could walk beside them as they consider starting a new group.
As a Co-Leader, you know how to lead. Pray about starting a group yourself. Before I get trouble for suggesting thatā¦. you donāt need to leave your current group. We have leaders that lead a group and participate in a group.
And again- Talk the FP4H talk every chance you get. Tell others what you have learned, what you have lost, what you have gained, how God has changed you. Encourage them to join a class.
Leaders
Thank you for your unwavering dedication to the FP4H program. We are in the process of reaching out to all of you with a short survey. You may receive a phone call or an email. Please reach out to me if you would like to get a call, I would love to talk to you. If you do not hear from us, please contact me. We are creating a database of our in-person leaders. Help us find you!!
We are asking you to stretch for us also!
One of the greatest compliments you can give to a person in your group is to believe they have what it takes to lead.
Sometimes people do not step into leadership because they don’t think they are qualified. They need someone to say, āI see something in you. I think you could do this.ā
Ask God to show you who you could begin encouraging toward leadership. Give her opportunities to participate. Let her help with a discussion, lead a wellness topic, welcome someone new, or take on a small responsibility.
And then tell her why you chose her.
You might be surprised at what happens when someone hears, āI think you would make a wonderful leader.ā
And again- Talk the FP4H talk every chance you get. Tell others what you have learned, what you have lost, what you have gained, how God has changed you. Encourage them to join a class.
As Paul reminded Timothy:
āAnd the things that you have heard from me⦠commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.ā 2 Timothy 2:2
